Roulette is one of the funnest and most well-liked online casino games available that combines simplicity with a unique twist to offer players great entertainment and of course, the chance to win some serious money. A roulette table is consisted of the wheel and playing field (a felt surface) with numbers ranging from 0 to 36 color coded evenly in both red and black. Red or Black

The red or black bet is as simple as the name and means that a player simply must choose whether the outcome of the spin will land on a red or black number. Since this is the easiest bet in terms of odds to predict it only pays out 1 to 1 meaning if you bet $100 you would win $100 plus your original wager back if you picked correctly.

Even or Odd

Another relatively easy bet where the player chooses whether the number chosen will be even or odd and is paid 1 to 1.

Column and Dozen Betting

This wager allows players to pick a grouping of numbers in 12’s or by column of 12’s. Since the roulette playing field is divided into three columns of 12 different numbers, players may either bet on an individual column or a section of 12 numbers with one bet. This bet is a little bit riskier but still quite easy to win and pays out 2 to 1 if your guess correctly.

Individual Numbers

The most popular bet on a roulette table where the player puts his/her chips on a single number ranging from 1 to 36 hoping that the ball will land on their chosen number on the wheel. This is the hardest combination to make and thus pays 36 to 1 on your bet meaning if you bet $100 you would make $3600 in one spin should the ball land on your number. This is the most popular and widely used bet you can make in a roulette game.

Multiple Numbers

In many cases in addition to playing one single number roulette players will also spread their bets across multiple numbers to increase their chances of guessing correctly and maximizing their win. This is a good strategy as long as you do not exceed 25% of your payout (remember, hitting correctly pays 36 to 1) and is a popular roulette strategy amongst players.

Split Bets

Split betting allows for players to combine a single bet between two numbers by placing their chip in between two numbers boxes. For example, you could bet on 9 and 10 simultaneously with one chip by doing this. The split bet pays out 17 to 1 and is a good way of spreading your wagers across the field to increase your chances of winning.

Corner Bets

Corner bets in roulette are designed to allow the player to bet on sections of numbers in different groupings to allow them to spread their bet effectively over the different playing fields. For example, you could bet on 4 numbers with one chip by placing your wager in a position so that it touches the boxes of 4 separate numbers. An example of this would be wagering on 9, 10, 11 and 12 by placing your betting chip strategically where all of these four numbers intersect. This wager pays out 8 to 1 and is useful in covering a large amount of the playing field while minimizing your risk.

Note About 0 & 00

Zero and double zero are part of the roulette playing field and players may wager on them only in single number format, meaning that you cannot bet on 0 or 00 with column, corner, split betting or otherwise.  In most roulette games, if a 0 or 00 is hit, players will win back half of their wager if they are on betting on the outside boxes (not on individual numbers).  That being said, 0 and 00 are the enemy of most roulette players and many will not bet on them fearing that they bring bad luck to the tables.
