Barkley says it’s time for a change
May 20, 2008
Charles Barkley, one of the best rebounders in the game, as been quoted as saying that he will quit his gambling days after paying back the Wynn Resorts Ltd. $400,000 off his gambling debt.
The Wynn Resort sued Barkley after they extended him time in October to repay his debts and he never made these payments. Barkley commented as saying that he was never given a specific time frame to make these payments and said that he had enough money to make these payments.
There were definitely mixed signals about Barkley as he started the interview as saying “I’m not going to gamble anymore,” and later said “For right now, the next year or two, I’m not going to gamble.” It is seeming to be a more temporary thing, but I guess we will just have to wait and see.
