Craps Betting Systems
June 5, 2008
Craps systems are used so that players can learn how, where, and when to place their bets. These systems will give you ideas and ways to reduce the house advantage. Systems will vary from one player to another so pick the system that fits you best.
The Martingale System is a very popular system for all different kinds of casino games. The idea behind this system is to double your original bet for every loss you have. So if you begin with a $1 bet and lose, the next bet will be a $2 bet. The concept behind this system if that the players will always make $1 once they do hit a winner. Always remember to start by betting the lowest denomination that is allowed in that game.
For this system most players will try and make their bets on either the Pass or Don’t Pass lines. These lines allow for even money odds and do not give players strange odds such as 7:2 or something like that. Some problems do exist with this system such as a player not having the control and patience to win only $1 at a time. Also, players must have a large bankroll otherwise the doubling method would not make sense. If a player continues to lose the doubling can become very high making it necessary to come to the table with a large roll.
Collect. press, and regress is another system known as CPR. The idea behind this game is after the come out roll takes place, you will then place your bet on a certain point such as 8. If an 8 hits on a $6 bet then you will receive $7 giving you a $1 profit. The next time your point is hit, you tell the dealer to “press.” This means that the dealer will double your original bet giving you the extra $1. The third time your number hits, you tell the dealer to “regress.” Now the dealer will take all the profit off the table, returning it to you while leaving the original $6 out to play.
This system also has flaws however as players must be on a hot streak in order to keep the bets out there. This style does have the lowest house advantage though and would be a good system for new players.
Hedge Betting consists of the player trying to protect his own bets. For instance, a player would bet a high amount on a bet with low odds while also betting a low amount on spot with high odds. The idea is to make the large amount more often, but if the long shot comes through then the player will also have a large pay day.
The problem with this strategy is that there are many high odd bets on the table. Choosing the correct one is very tough, but the player must hope that the low odd bet will come through in the long run.
Choose the system that works best for you and never use a system that you are uncomfortable with. For more craps information check out Casino Craps Gambling Online.
